The Hollywood Reporter-Billboard Media Group recently announced its acquisition of Vibe along with two other SpinMedia music properties, Spin and Stereogum. The acquisition makes The Hollywood Reporter-Billboard Media Group the largest global music brand based on online reach, including website traffic and social media shares.
Stephen Blackwell, SpinMedia CEO, will serve as the chief strategy officer of the new venture, overseeing online publications viewed by up to 45 million readers each month. The acquisition of SpinMedia follows The Hollywood Reporter-Billboard Media Group’s expansion into the streaming video space early in 2018. It now delivers more than 100 million video views. The Media Group’s next venture will be launching custom content via the Facebook Live platform.
