An accomplished media executive with extensive experience curating sports and pop culture content for a variety of platforms, Keith Clinkscales served as senior vice president of content development and enterprises with ESPN from 2007 to 2012. In this capacity, Keith Clinkscales oversaw the development of ESPN 30 for 30 documentaries and was responsible for creating the Tribeca Sports Film Festival.
Since its creation, three films have earned the Tribeca Film Institute's (TFI) ESPN Prize.
1. The Battered Bastards of Baseball - Directed and written by musician and filmmaker Chapman Way, this 2013 documentary tells the story of the Portland Mavericks, an independent minor league baseball team created by Hollywood veteran Bing Russell that inspired a community.
2. The Punch - The recipient of the TFI/ESPN prize in 2014, this documentary focuses on a father and his son as they both seek out success as boxers in their troubled Southside Chicago neighborhood. The creators of the film, including director Andre Hörmann and producer Ingmar Trost, first began establishing bonds with the two protagonists in 2007.
3. The Cage Fighter - Directed by Jeff Unay, this documentary tells the story of a longtime amateur MMA fighter in preparation for his fight against an up-and-coming young champion, while at the same time trying to keep his life together.
